Perfect, sporty handling
Pegasus places great importance on the high quality of their bikes. Stiffness and stable handling are important requirements in this respect. The Pegasus Premio SL Disc 27 therefore has very good handling characteristics. Couple this with a sporty equipment with no fewer than 27 gears and hydraulic disc brakes and you get a fine hybrid bike that will also do well on hills.
The lightweight aluminium frame has outstanding rigidity. This is partly achieved by choosing not to completely eliminate the welds. This keeps these stress points stronger, which is positive for the strength of the bike. As a result, this is a hybrid bike that handles very nicely and predictably. The suspension fork and 44 mm wide tyres also manage to cushion many bumps well, making for pleasant, comfortable riding characteristics. You sit upright on this bike, which is a comfortable position. However, by adjusting the seatpost and stem, you can choose whether you want a more sporty position while cycling.
Sportable equipment
A sportier riding position is not out of place on the Pegasus Premio SL Disc 27. Indeed, with derailleur drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes, this is a bike with sporty features. With no fewer than 27 gears, you have such a wide range of gears that you will be able to set a fast pace with the wind in your back, but also cope well with hills and headwinds. The hydraulic disc brakes provide plenty of braking power. Making an emergency stop is therefore quite possible. Even in wet weather, these components brake very well. The fact that the bike is also fully equipped, including a lighting set that works with a hub dynamo, makes the Pegasus Premio SL Disc 27 a very complete bike.

It drives well, but the quality isn’t as good as I’d expected
In itself, this bike rides fine, but the quality isn’t as good as they claim when selling it. (Just as good as a Gazelle, but cheaper). Take the pedals, for example. After just one winter, the pedal nuts have rusted, the rubber is coming away and the reflectors have come loose too. So it’s less safe in the dark. What’s more, because they slip loose, they get caught between the pedal arms whilst you’re biking and snap off with a bang. Not exactly good for your peace of mind. This has happened to both pedals, so it’s not a one-off issue. The chain also rusts quickly. None of these problems ever occurred with my 25-year-old Gazelle.

Robust fast bike
Despite the relatively heavy frame and wide tyres, a fast and light cycling steel steed.
